Although we offer a variety of new construction home developments throughout Livingston County, we understand many people dream of building on their own land. That’s why we offer our custom building services on our clients’ lots.
We will help you navigate the process of designing, planning, and building your custom new construction home, and you will receive the same customer service as if you were building in a Mitch Harris development.
I want to build on my own land, but how do I know if it’s an ideal building site?
If you are considering a lot, we would be happy to walk the parcel with you and provide guidance on whether it is buildable. We will help you visualize how your home would sit on the land and attempt to identify any potential additional costs.
Do I need to buy the land before I start building my home?
Although it is ideal, it is not required! If you do not yet own your land, we would be happy to refer you to one of our local preferred lenders who could assist you on bundling your lot purchase and new construction loan.
Am I responsible for applying for my own building permits?
No, we will handle the construction process just as we would a home in one of our own developments. We will take care of all permitting requirements for your home, in addition to contracting all trades from start to finish.
Am I limited to choosing from your library of floor plans?
If your dream home is beyond what you see in our collection of floor plans, we can design a custom home together that is perfect for your needs and accomplishes all of your goals.
How do I find a scattered site?
Please feel free to reach out to us, and we can pass along our current inventory of scattered sites or any knowledge of available land in the area. We also recommend searching Zillow and Realtor.com.
